Food Soup Maker Soups

Soup Maker: Potato and Onion Soup Recipe – 1.6 Litre

Another soup maker recipe for you, but remember, you can also make this in a pan.

I love potato and onion soup, but my boys find it harder to take with the onion taste.   When serving this up, you can serve with a little cream on top, creme fraise, or even some natural yoghurt to make it easier for children to eat.

This literally is just potatoes and onions with some stock, so it might not be for everyone.   I find soups fill me up when I hit a tempting binge cycle, so I make a lot of them as an emergency stand by.

Soups without dairy can be frozen. With dairy in, it’s likely to curdle on reheating.

Got my Vonshef soup maker last Friday having been inspired by you.
It worked straight out of the box and just used what I had in the fridge.
Looking forward to trying your recipes.

If I use the Chunky setting am I right in thinking that it will still stir the ingredients occasionally as I have the Kettle type so cannot see.

How to make it would depend on your machine and a lot of stirring. I wouldn’t see any problem in the saute and soup maker, though it might stick to the bottom of the regular one. Making sure you stir well is the secret to cheese in soups. With the saute version, you have the option of lifting the lid and pausing the machine, which I would be tempted to do for the stilton toward the end of the cycle. I suspect the broccoli would be difficult to puree to a one hundred percent smooth soup, so it might not match the shop bought kind, but it would taste fantastic.

It’s trial and error with that I suspect.
