Lots of choices here. From making salads to pizzas, tacos or hamburgers, this slime set was perfect for a rainy day, to keep little hands busy and focused. Personally, I think these sets are absolutely fabulous for those with sensory issues that like to feel different textures through rolling and shaping the slime and adding different decorations.
Decorating food made from imagination is a personal thing that allows creativity to surface and little imaginations to run riot. Every new street food creation can be a different experience. Moulding the shaped needed and then squishing them out of the slime is just so satisfying. I think it’s a bit like a squeeze toy/boredom breaker, as it allows for reshaping over and over again.
Having street food as a topic is genius, as not many children don’t have take aways or burgers and chips for special occasions. This is a relevant toy for many children.

This set is going to get a lot of use. There was just something so fun about getting a mixer going and enjoying the whole process. It’s a little like a wee girls dream really.
The goal is to make fluffy slime puddings (desserts), and use a manual stand mixer to create individual little masterpieces, by using slime that doubles as ingredients for little hands recipes to make.
The treat recipes that are easily made can include lemon pie, sweet cake and lava cake. To use the mixer, it’s easy for small hands to turn the crank handle and get the mixer spinning to mix the slime with the dyes and whichever decorations little minds want to churn together. This means that the vibrant dyes can shine through for piping into the finished designs.
There are recipe cards to help, or just mix your own. The ingredients are also good for sensory experiences with the textures. Lots of bits with kitchen inspired uses. This was so much fun.

To use the set, it’s a mater of choosing which poster to try first, or we can make our own from scratch. First, paint the poster with the watercolour paints, and then it’s a novelty to use the fluffy paints to make the 3D effect and bring the poster to life totally. We can create different effects with the fluffy paint.
There are different nozzle tops so that different shapes can be made to choose our own designs. It’s a little like piping a cake and the video below is really good to show how it’s done.

What Did We Think?
A lovely set, perfect for youngsters. An afternoon enjoying the set on a rainy day was just the ticket for this one.
The fluffy paints were new and lots more fun than they looked. It’s a different experience and really actually very interesting to bring little designs to life.

What Did We Think?
This was really cute. The tiny figures added so much to the set and made it completely enjoyable. We forgot to put batteries in, but that didn’t stop the enjoyment and the time it took to play with this. We rolled out the clay to make a rainbow path, and the decorations were added bit by bit.
This is designed for ages 6+, but we had a 4 year old test the kit, so she needed some help to put the little pieces into order, but she really didn’t need much help at all. Some of the pull out pieces needed pushed into the clay to keep them steady without falling over, like the trees etc.
The green balls are a little tacky, so feel weird to little hands and we used them as the water for a pool for our holiday poolside theme design. Great what little imaginations can create. We popped the lid and she excitedly picked up the globe to go and show her big sister, and in that couple of seconds the set up shook up a bit and went a bit messy inside the globe. Shame we couldn’t set them in place to keep them steady, but we’ll just try another design when we have time.
This set is really cute. The plushy is soft, squidgy and cuddly. Absolutely perfect size for little hands.

The six coloured pens were fun and popping batteries into the airbrush hairdryer means that it is used as an airbrush to colour the hair. Little ones can choose to use the stencils in the box, or they can try to freestyle while they do it. The sink has a wee pump that means it works like a real salon for a perfect wash and repeat again for another try over and over again.
The little sink that can take real water is genius. It’s not messy, but do keep a towel or two on the floor in case you forget the water and tip it over. It took a minute to figure out how to work the pump, but it’s easier than it looks. This was really really fun for a wee toot.

What Did We Think?
Very popular little set from Style Forever.
To use the set, put some wax on the tip of the pen, and then pick up the gens on the end of the pen nib. Stick them down onto the character. When finished, the character can be slotted into the base and lit up for a lovely finish and for little ones to admire their work.
There are plenty little pieces in the box to enjoy using gems to light up the finished project. A lovely way to spend a wet and windy afternoon with little ones.
The Build Your Own Plane Launcher Kit is a 47-piece kit contains everything you need to slot together and build this lovely wee paper plane launcher. The plane launcher kit from build your own kits is just one of their kids available to buy. Follow the instructions, press out the pre-cut parts, attach the elastic bands and we should be ready to fly our planes.

What Did We Think?
Lots of fun had with this set building it. The build must have been a little skewy as the planes didn’t go very far as in the videos above, but plans are in place to rebuild and get it right. It didn’t stop anyone enjoying it, and my testers will be able to disassemble and assemble again.
Plane Launcher
There were about 47 different parts that press out to be assembled with elastic bands and there are a couple of spares if one or two go astray. It takes about an hour to build at the first attempt by following the instructions. With lots of different fold n fly paper planes and scoring targets, it’s a nifty wee set and I think it would look great as part of any birthday or Christmas collection.

The Style 4 Ever Diamond Art Light LED Case set comes with a phenomenal amount of additions to the kit. It’s not just a case, and probably could have focussed more on what’s all in box. There is loads, including pens, stickers, templates to create art, lots of different coloured diamond pieces and an awful lot of play for the price, which includes the lightbox to shine bright under the art and make it easy for our little ones to avoid straining their eyes.
This seems to be a great set that can be brought out again and again. We had a younger one under supervision of her mum and sister. This set contains lots of small diamond parts that help with dexterity and manipulation. Collecting that diamond piece on the end of the pen with a little wax on it, isn’t as easy as it looks, so that was a positive side I hadn’t thought of.
With oodles of things in the set, it’ll keep them occupied on horrible days. Refills would be easy to get too, as diamond painting seems to be a much bigger thing nowadays with little ones, which is to be expected with all the glitter going on.

The Style 4 Ever Nail Art Gel Studio allows little ones to make fabulous and stunning designs at home, safely. The set has a real UV lamp that dries the nails in just one short minute, allowing the set to feel professional and grown up. Suitable for ages 8 and upwards, however we tested with younger children, and a big sister involved for safety.
In the box, there are three bottles of polish. The polish comes in turquoise, purple and pink. Also in the box are glitter bags, stickers and some nail tools. There are also some trays to help keep the glitter in place. There are also several sets of press on nails to make some sets quickly, and a mould for making your own.
What Did We Think?
My testers were a big sister with her cool real manicured in the picture, holding her little sisters Style 4 Ever Nail Gel applied nails. The two young ones were a little too young for the set, so the nails were a just a little too big for her wee hand. That didn’t spoil the fun though, as all three played with this set for a good while, painting the press on nail sets as painting swatches and sticking little jewels on to make their own designs.
There were plenty little tools and bits and pieces to make this a good painting set as well as play nail set. Having the real UV light was awesome as the young ones could really pretend they were getting nails done like their big sis. It’s realistic and adds to the ability to use the set again and again. I don’t know what the paint is made of, but it was quite impressive and not runny, so they could use it easily.
The set was broken out on a miserably rainy and windy day, so it was perfect to introduce some healthy play with little ones learning from an older sibling. Thanks for the set go to Style 4 Ever.

What Is The So Slime Go Gooey Snails Slime Race Set?
The beauty of the So Slime Go Gooey Snails Slime Race Set is that it gives the kids an activity to carry out while playing with their slime.
The problem with most slime gifts, is that it’s usually given as just the slime. There’s nothing to do with it, and little brains with an abundance of slime and nothing to do with it, usually end up lobbing it at surfaces, walls and doors – actually, anything they can think of to do with it.
This set changes that very quickly, as it helps co-ordinate planning, dexterity and competition. I don’t think there are any parents who haven’t experienced the results of slime lobbed at the roof, and hanging there, giving the ceiling a lovely shade of whatever slime they are playing with. Slime is also lots of fun for kids (and us grown ups) and it’s nice to see actual sets that use slime creatively.
What Did We Think?
The set was very easy to put together. It’s a simple click system that lets us slot the slides together and they can be up and running with the slime as an activity, racing each other with the snails in their little carts. The slime seemed to also be a hit with little fingers. It’s a very easy set to use, and easy for children to work on their own. Lots of fun.
How To Play With The So Slime Set
Slot the pieces of the slide together. Remember to pop something under the slides, in case of spillage, to make it easier on the clean up and keep the slime in one place. Using a tea towel work. Perhaps a tray would be a better idea, as it would be easier to scoop up the slime at the end and save it for another race day.
Add the slime to the slides and pop the snails on, then start the race.
If you remove the shell from the snail, you can suck up the slime and then squeeze it again, which leaves a lovely slime trail behind it. You can see how that works in the video below. The slime texture is very stretchy.

I haven’t done reviews for a while, but this really did stand out as a fabulous addition to any child and their inquisitiveness, while allowing them to play safely with child friendly tech. This kit went to my sons girlfriends family and will hopefully find itself used for many hours of playtime. I believe it took a while to get the filaments right, but once it was underway, it was fun to use.

This is a lovely product. Keeps little hands busy for hours and keeps them away from the dreaded screen glare that makes our little ones eyes flicker from side to side like a gas lit flame in a draught. The possibilities really are endless and it’s just so simple to use and do.

The pen is great for all types of keeping children entertained on journeys, at the park, in the garden and actually anywhere, due to the wireless and rechargeable battery. To try the pen out, I just popped the cable into a back up battery charger to avoid having to have it plugged into the wall. This is a ‘want to use it now,’ kind of toy.
Filaments are also available to buy separately as a kit top up option.
It’s simple to use, and with the included drawing templates to get you started, it’s fab. there is a plastic sheet to pop over anything you use as a template, and stops the filaments sticking to any pieces of paper etc.
How Does it Work?
Pop the Power Button to setting 1 or 2. If the battery is charged, it will start to heat up quite quickly.
When the light stops flashing, press start/stop to start the loading. Feed the filament you choose into the little hole and press stop when you see it come out of the nozzle. The pen is now ready to use.
Use the Eject/Temp button to adjust the temperature. The light will show red if you increase the temperature and change to green if you reduce it.
Put a plastic sheet over the drawing you are going to make, and start making. It might take several goes to get the hang of it.
The pen goes off on its’ own automatically after about 5 minutes.
What NOT to Do!
Don’t put the filament out of the back of the pen. Use the eject button to reverse the filament. Pulling might break the pen mechanism.
After removing a filament, the end of the filament needs to be snapped off before putting it back in, so that it feeds through the pen properly.
If filaments expand, don’t use them.

We received some samples of the new Antsy Labs Fidget Cube and Fidget Spinner. To say two of my boys couldn’t wait to get their hands on them, is an understatement. Two of mine are very restless, and tend to use anything they can get their hands on to fidget with, even if it’s just elastic bands. I’ve lost count of how many pencils and rulers I’ve had to buy, as they fidget with them, and they end up broken.
We’ve seen fidget spinners before, but the one from Antsy was far better quality than the cheapo I first bought from a big company, but that one had sharp edges. No fear of that with the Antsy one. I can see the attraction for the kids with the spinner, as they flick and twist, but personally, I struggle with that.
Moving onto the fidget cube, I just couldn’t put that down. With all the little bits to twist, spin, press, flick and click, and how it fit nicely into one hand, I could see the enormous benefit for that when my boys go back to school. The spinner is great for home, but the cube, as it’s less of a distraction for other kids, would be great for school. At the moment, my kids have a sort of putty they use at school, but the cube would be far better.
