I did one of these memes about a year or so ago so I thought it was maybe time to update my divaesqueness.
I don’t do very many memes so here we go. This one came from the lovely @mummycentral ladies over at Mummy Central (by the way ladies, nice makeover on the blog)
So here’s 10 things you really never wanted to know about me.
1: Describe yourself in seven words:
Doing the best that I can today…..
2: What keeps you awake at night?
A 9 year old sleepwalker and an 11 year old insomniac come equal first to my Twitter love of late night blethers. No surprise there then huh?
3: If you could be anyone for a day who would you be and why?
Soo easy. If it could be anyone, it would be my 20 year old carefree self with a day to myself to do whatever, lie in bed till lunchtime, eat rubbish and not put on weight, great skin, 80’s big hair, shoulder pads, Dynasty, and liquid eyeliner. Hmm, might go back to that and be mutton dressed as lamb when I get my bus pass.
4: What are you wearing now?
Ancient jeans to clean the house, an oversized t-shirt that stretched in the wash, a cardi that the gerbil has just eaten a hole through, and my trusty fitflop ankle boots that get worn in all weathers (I am ever so glam, so I am).
5: What scares you?
People.
6: What is the best and the worst thing about blogging?
The best: Overcoming one of my biggest fears which is also my newest (see number 5), and going to Cybermummy in 2011 with hundreds of women.
The worst:
Hearing and seeing the problems people are facing and not having enough time to do what I want to do to take forward my charity plans yet.
7: What was the last website you looked at?
Diary of a Benefits Scrounger I haven’t interacted with her, but I check up on her posts regularly since the onset of the #spartacusreport. I wish her a speedy recovery from hospital.
8: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Physically: Same as most – being thinner, and not needing glasses to use the laptop and drive.
Personality: Be more tolerant with my kids. Yes, I lose my temper with them and sometimes shout. I always regret it.
9: Slankets Yes or No!?
Hate them, I’d rather have a regular cover. People keep buying me them. I am sure they are trying to tell me that I should be acting my age instead of blogging and tweeting my life away. They seem determined to turn me into a pipe and slipper gal who sits in front of the TV slurping her micro meals. The kids find plenty of use for them though, and if they don’t, the blankets end up on the dog’s bed..
10: Tell us something about the person who tagged you?
She always has a good word to say about other bloggers.
For tagging other people, I suspect almost everyone has had it by now, so I am going to sit back and see if anyone leaves me a comment on the blog, then I am going to enter them in a little competition to win a wee surprise gift that would suit any mum, so if you have got this far, leave your name and a way to contact you and a nice surprise could be on its way to you.
I’m a right nosey cow, so love this kind of post! Great to know a bit more about the person behind the blog. Ah, the 80’s – I have shoulders like an American Footballer, so had to cut those pesky shoulder pads out of every new top I bought! 🙂
So do I, thought I loved having the huge shoulder pads Wonder why they never came back into fashion…….
Only just getting into blogging and blogs generally, but so many of those I’ve read don’t give much background of the writer. I think it’s great to see posts like this, partly just coz I’m nosy, and because it makes the cyber space between reader and writer a little less vast…
I think we all start out doing the personal stuff, then somehow, we graduate to topics and issues, and reviews and the more challenging parts of life around our kids and not enough about ourselves. Thanks for the comment.
My email should be on the comment. It’s always nice to find out more about the people behind the blogs.
It’s nice to write something personal now and again Most blog posts are about issues these days somehow.
Always interested in these! Embrace the slanket and liquid eye liner, I say!
Hahahaha, slanket and liquid eyeliner are two opposite ends of the scale….
I’m always interested to read about the real person behind a good blog.
Delegate the slanket to the gerbils I say.
Thank you. Tempting to send the slankets to the gerbies, but they have to be trundled out every so often when the givers comes around. Then one or two have to be retrieved from dogs bed in case they are spotted.
